Ooty 3 days itinerary

Hello guys,
Here is a brief 3 days holiday itinerary plan to ooty.

Journey Start Date: 2nd April 4am
Journey End Date: 4th April 10pm

Myself and 3 of my friends booked an XUV from zoom car. If you'll have a personal car then it works out very economical. Booked a room from Paytm which offered cheapest price with cashback.
Searched Google and found out some itinerary which were very useful.

We started our journey at 4am from rajajinagar, Bengaluru. (Before you start your journey buy 20lts water can with tap. Dont spend lot of money on water)(Also keep a sweater in your bag because its very cold even during the month April)
We wanted to reach ooty by 1pm but we couldnt make it on time.
Heading towards ooty we first visited mysore and had our breakfast in Mysore at around 8am. As we were driving very slowly and taking breaks in the middle it took so long to reach mysore or else we could have reached mysore in 2 1/2 or 3hours. (have breakfast lightly because ooty ghat is very curvy or else you may feel sick)

Then after finishing our breakfast we then continued our journey and stopped next at Nanjanagudu Srikanteshwara Temple at 10am. The road which we choose was under construction. Do remember to travel via Ring road after you finish your breakfast from mysore. Its very famous temple in south karnataka and very huge temple. You will spend around 45mins at this temple. Then at around 10.45am we continued our journey and Stopped at Gundlupete for 10mins and had some watermelon. It was around 12 o'clock now.

We continued our journey and reached bandipur national park. After this park we enter Tamil Nadu. Here there is a checkpost at Theppakadu where they check for security purpose, keep your car documents upto date. Also do not carry any alcohol because Liquor is not allowed from other states.
These check post people are very rude and they check each n every compartment of your car.

After this checkpost we took right turn to avoid that 36pin curve route which is very dangerous. We then took this another route which is towards mudumalai national part > Gudalur > Pykara lake.
Stop near Pykara lake and from here your trip to ooty starts. This lake is wonderful and we could spot some bison at the other side of the lake. It was around 2.30pm when we reached pykara lake and left pykara lake at 3.15. We had some omlet sandwich because we were damn hungry. Do remember to pay Tamil Nadu road tax near ooty entrance if you are going by yellow board vehicle. Karnataka Vehicles will be targeted so please be aware of it. There is RTO Check post who will not stop you. You yourself should stop there and pay the tax and move forward.

Then we reached our destination at 4pm and checked in at Rainbow Cottage booked already from paytm. We freshen up and had our lunch at "Yummy's Hotel". To be very frank this is the best hotel in ooty. Food was way too good and also the service was very very fast. We finished our lunch at 5.30pm and we took some rest in our room and at around 8 o'clock we went to market and did some shopping. Do remember that after 7pm all sight seeing places are closed. Then we had dinner in "Hyderabad Biryani". Good hotel and good food. Service was a bit late but its manageable.

Next morning we got up and were ready at 10am and we headed towards Doddabetta Peak. Its a very huge mountain and is the tallest mountain in south India. Height of the peak  8640 ft. Its not so good as hyped by others. Reason is road was blocked and we had to walk 3kms towards mountain and it was very tiring. It took around 45mins to walk above and 30mins to walk down.
Then we visited ooty tea factory and did some shopping there. Do not buy chocolates in that tea factory because they are costly. Buy chocolates in main market. Buy tea packets if you are regular tea drinker.

Then we had lunch at "Quality hotel". Reading reviews about this hotel we were dragged towards this hotel but a polite request to all of you'll that please do not visit this hotel. Food quality is very low and very spicy food. Rate wise on top of the mountain. Very costly and ambiance is the worst. We waited 45mins after our starters for main course. No idea about buffet food but seeing the quality of top up food its the worst hotel in ooty.

Then we visited botanical garden but there was heavy rush. After finishing this we again visited market area and tried exploring ooty. If time permits then do visit Rose garden that day itself. We couldnt visit because time couldnt permit.

(If you'll have one more day time then next morning visit ooty toy train. Which is around 4-5 hours one way journey from ooty to mettupalayam. Book your tickets well advanced in IRCTC. Its said to be the best place to visit as you can see the whole niligiri mountains and good site seeing place. We had no time so we couldn't make it.)

Next day we visited rose garden and to our disappointment there were no good roses. Many plants were bare rose. Then we wanted to visit Wax museum but time didnt permit us. We left ooty at 12 o'clock and reached bangalore at 8pm.
